"I'm the Headmaster!" Elan said sharply. "That's[/b] how I can take points!" He looked to Marvolo. "Thank you for finding her."
He looked back to Kyleigh and said, "Yes, I know it's your fault, by the way. What makes you think that it would ever be okay to go outside the protective enchantments? You also have detentions! Twelve detentions... one for each set of ten points you've lost Ravenclaw last night. If you're lucky, you'll be able to earn them back for your house. Otherwise, Ravenclaw's loss of the House Cup rests squarely on your shoulders, Kyleigh!"

Kyleigh felt her heart shatter. This wasn't her fault. She was just following Marvolo around, prying at him. She knew he was hiding something, that there was something wrong. Now that she did know though, she couldn't do anything about it. Not only was she hurt, but so was her house. So much for being a prefect... She'd be lucky if she was even allowed to continue to be the keeper for the Quidditch team. This was all Marvolo's fault, and there was never going to be able to do anything to change things. Sure, she had goaded Marvolo, but he had no right to do what he had done. Not only had he used magic on her the night before, but he had also used one of the Unforgivable curses, if not more. She didn't remember what had happened up to a certain point.
She just closed her eyes, no longer able to look at Elan. "I'm sorry...I didn't mean to..." She could feel the tears slide down her cheeks, mixing in with the blood on her face. "I'm sorry..."
Ky's eyes shot open, realizing she was missing something. "Where's my wand?"

"I'll pay for you to get a new one... It will likely never be recovered," said Elan, the first kind sentiment he had since hearing the news. "Marvolo, I need to speak with you afterwards... privately."

Ky, still lying in Marvolo's arms as they searched for Madame Pomfrey, continued to shed tears softly. The kind word from Elan comforted her in the slightest bit, hope for a new wand giving her a little more energy. She closed her eyes, letting herself slip off into unconsciousness, the pain overtaking her. She was too tired to keep fighting to stay awake.

They finally found Madame Pomfrey and left Kyleigh in her very capable hands. Poppy immediately began gathering together potions and reciting incantations in an attempt to help the poor student. "What happened, Elan?" she asked as she did this.
"She strayed outside the protective enchantments of the Castle and Death Eaters got to her," Elan replied.
"Poor girl," Poppy replied. "She must have been a fighter to survive. Are you sure she shouldn't be in Gryffindor?"
"Albus once said that we sort too soon..." was Elan's reply.
He turned to Marvolo and gestured out. "Come... I've things to discuss with you."

Marvolo nodded silently, having finally caught his breath, he followed Elan.
He pulled out his wand and gave it a slight wave, saying Muffliato within the confines of his mind, to assure that whatever Elan had to say wasn't overheard.
Everything he'd just done had been a tiny bit elaborate, but it 1) Took Ky out of the picture for at least a few hours, 2) Warned her that he could be dangerous, but that she couldn't do anything about that, and 3) He hoped Elan would now be a bit distracted from the spell.
He didn't say anything, knowing Elan would speak when ready.

"How did Voleurdevie take the news?" Elan asked simply. He'd discuss Kyleigh in a few moments, but right now, this was pressing. "Most importantly, what are your new orders?"

"Well I can tell you he wasn't pleased to hear that I actually performed the curse on you. To tell you the full truth, I believe his fear for you runs deeper than he'll say," Marvolo said, though next his voice grew quite bitter. "But that thought forced him to use two unforgivable curses on me."
Stopping himself from a growl, he continued on with the next question. "Next though, I've been told to to do what I can to stop you from creating that spell, so naturally, I only want to help you with it, if you need..." he said. He knew in some cases, to tell the half-truth was the best lie.

"I'm sorry," said Elan truthfully. "You know it was never my intention for you to get hurt."
Elan gave up on any legilimency because he knew that Marvolo was always practicing occlumency, though he could easily guess which two curses were used. "As soon as I have that spell, I'll teach you for future reference."

"It's part of the job," Marvolo said after a moment, but moved on.
"Have you made any progress on a spell though?" he asked, very much knowing he needed an answer. If Elan got too far, Marvolo could be in some deep trouble, or at least his job would be much more difficult.
((Sorry, lamest post ever))

"Unfortunately, no," said Elan sadly.
((Nope... THIS was.))

"Alright," Marvolo replied with a slight nod, internally smiling.
"As for... Kissinger... you think she'll be alright, right? I mean... I just feel bad, y'know, it was my 'friends', and I'm using that term lightly here, who did that to her..."
"And I hadn't thought to tell you about last night, though clearly I should have. Like I said, I found her roaming through the Forbidden Forest, and when she wouldn't go in, I felt it best for her to get her iniside, and thus just performed a simple sleeping spell on her... which she seemed to take a little personally... so if she mentions it... that's all it was..."

"Thank you for your efforts, Marvolo," Elan replied sincerely, though added in a more agressive tone, "But you're aware, I'm sure of school rules regarding use of magic on a student by a teacher, right? I'll let you off since you were trying to protect her, but we can't risk that happening again, understand?"

"While I respect that, you should know that nowhere is there a rule that states that, Elan," Marvolo said, quite determined to be right. "Especially in the manner and situation I did."
